DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P05A3, P05B2
DTC P05A3:Shutter Grille Actuator (Upper) Malfunction DTC P05B2:Shutter Grille Actuator (Lower) Malfunction General Description
The shutter grille system open/closes the shutter depending on the driving conditions. The system improves fuel efficiency by reducing the wind drag. The shutter is controlled by the shutter grille which integrates the actuator. The powertrain control module (PCM) sends open/close requests which depends on the driving conditions to the shutter grille via the LIN line. Also the PCM receives failure information from the shutter grille via the LIN line. The PCM discriminates a failure by the signal value received via the LIN line. If the PCM receives a specified signal from the shutter grille, the PCM detects as a shutter grille LIN line open/short failure and stores a DTC. Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the PGM-FI display comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on. Conditions for clearing the DTC
The PGM-FI display is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The PGM-FI display, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command. |
