DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P05A8, P05B7
DTC P05A8:Shutter Grille Actuator (Upper) Malfunction DTC P05B7:Shutter Grille Actuator (Lower) Malfunction General Description
The shutter grille system open/closes the shutter depending on the driving conditions. The system improves fuel efficiency by reducing the wind drag. The shutter is controlled by the shutter grille which integrates the actuator. The powertrain control module (PCM) sends open/close requests which depends on the driving conditions to the shutter grille via the LIN line. If the upper or lower actuator voltage is detected as abnormal, the PCM confirms the abnormality and stores a DTC. Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
When the power supply voltage of the PCM is more than 10.5V, when the actuator is 17.5 V or more, or less than 7.5 V for at least 2.5 seconds. Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes. DTC: P05A8

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the PGM-FI display comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on. Conditions for clearing the DTC
The PGM-FI display is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The PGM-FI display, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command. |
