Front Door Outer Handle Removal and Installation
Front Door Handle Base Cover/Front Door Lock Cylinder

1. Front Door Handle Base Cover - Remove

Remove the plug cap (A), and then remove the bolt.

Remove the front door handle base cover (A), together with the front door lock cylinder (B) as an assembly (driver's side).

Driver's side: Remove the front door lock cylinder (A) from the front door handle base cover (B).

For some models: Disconnect the connector (A), and then remove the harness clip (B).





2.
Remove the front door outer handle (A).

5. Front Door Outer Handle Base - Remove


1.
Loosen the bolt.

2.
Move the rear area of the outer handle base (A) inward.

3.
While pushing down the open lever (B), pull the outer handle base upward to disconnect the outer handle rod (C) from the front door latch (D).

4.
If necessary, remove the open lever clip (E).





5.
If necessary, remove the bolt, the special nut (A) and the collar (B) from the outer handle base (C).






6.
Disconnect the outer handle rod (A) from the front door outer handle base (B).

7.
Remove the rod fastener (C) from the outer handle base, then replace it with a new one.

6. All Removed Parts - Install

1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
Apply multipurpose grease to the open lever clip (A).
Driver's side: Make sure the ditch (B) is within the range (C) as shown.
Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the front door outer handle base bolt before reinstallation.
