Tailgate Support Strut Removal and Installation

NOTE:

Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the tailgate support strut.

Use eye protection when prying the support strut clips.

Do not handle the tailgate support strut by its harness.

Do not twist or apply transverse force to the tailgate support strut.

Support the tailgate with a prop to the vehicle, not to the ground.

Do not remove the support strut from the pivot bracket. If you do, you will have to replace it with new one.

Take care when handling the tailgate support strut. If it is dropped, you must replace it.

	Torque: N·m (kgf·m, lbf·ft)
*1	With power tailgate

1.	Rear Bumper - Remove (With Power Tailgate)

2.	Rear Side Trim Panel - Remove (With Power Tailgate)

3.	Tailgate Support Strut - Remove

4.	All Removed Parts - Install

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
