Washer Assembly Removal, Installation, and Test

NOTE:
Fluid may flow out of the opening.
Although a numbered sequence is shown, '' *1 '' indicated parts are separate components. If removal or replacement of one of the components is needed, it is not necessary to remove the other.
Washer Reservoir Capacity:

2.5 L (2.6 Us qt) (Without washer fluid level switch)
4.5 L (4.8 Us qt) (With washer fluid level switch)

Torque: N·m (kgf·m, lbf·ft)

1. Washer Filler Neck - Remove


2. Front Inner Fender - Remove


3. Connector - Disconnect


4. Windshield/Rear Window Washer Motor - Remove


5. Washer fluid level switch - Remove


6. Washer Reservoir - Remove


7. All Removed Parts - Install

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Windshield/Rear Window Washer Motor

1. Windshield/Rear Window Washer Motor - Test

Test the washer motor by connecting battery power to terminal No. 1 (No. 2)* and ground to terminal No. 2 (No. 1)* of the washer motor. The motor should run.

*: Rear window washer motor operation.


If the washer motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the windshield/rear window washer motor (A).
If the washer motor runs smoothly, but little or no washer fluid is pumped, check for a disconnected or blocked washer hose, or a clogged washer motor outlet.

Washer Fluid Level Switch

1. Washer Fluid Level Switch - Test



1.
Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

2.
If the continuity is not as specified, replace the washer fluid level switch (A).
