Electric Brake Booster Removal and Installation

NOTE:
Unless otherwise indicated, illustrations used in the procedure are for L15BE model.

1. Brake Fluid - Remove

Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.

3. 12 Volt Battery - Remove

Open the driver's door, and wait 3 minutes or more.

NOTE: Do not turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

4. Master Cylinder Reservoir Bracket - Remove


1.
Disconnect the connector (A).

2.
Remove the reservoir mounting bolt (B).

3.
Remove the wire harness (C).

4.
Remove the master cylinder reservoir bracket (D).

5. 12 Volt Battery Base - Remove

Except Japan production model

1.
Remove the 12 volt battery base (A).






Japan production model

1.
Remove the wire harness (A).

2.
Remove the 12 volt battery base (B).

6. 12 Volt Battery Base Bracket - Remove


Except Japan production model

1.
Remove the wire harness (A).

2.
Remove the 12 volt battery base bracket (B).

NOTE: During installation, loosely install the bolts and tighten it to the specified torque in the numbered sequence shown.






Japan production model

1.
Remove the wire harness (A).

2.
Remove the 12 volt battery base bracket (B).

7. Electric Brake Booster - Remove


1.
Remove the lock pin (A).

2.
Remove the clevis pin (B).

NOTE: During installation, apply multipurpose grease to the clevis pin in the brake pedal.

Remove the electric brake booster mounting nuts (C).

Disconnect the connector (A) by pushing the lock (B) and pulling up the lever (C); the connector disconnects itself.

6.
Disconnect the connector (D).






7.
Remove the electric brake booster (A) from the engine compartment.

NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the electric brake booster surfaces and threads of the electric brake booster stud bolts.
Be careful not to bend or damage the other components hoses and lines.

8.
Remove the gasket (B).

NOTE: Use a new electric brake booster gasket during reassembly.

8. All Removed Parts - Install

1.
Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: The lock pin (A) can be installed from the top or bottom.

11. Electric Brake Booster Software - Check

1.
Make sure the electric brake booster has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the electric brake booster.
