DTC B00DF-11: Short in the Front Passenger's Airbag ON/OFF Switch
NOTE:

B00DF-2B Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch
 

1.
Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?3.
Push and release the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 5 times repeatedly.

?4.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

B00DF-2B Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch
 

Is DTC B00DF-11 or B00DF-2B indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.?
2.
Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch check:

Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.
Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness)

?3.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?4.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

B00DF-2B Short to another wire harness in the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch
 

Is DTC B00DF-11 or B00DF-2B indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
3.
Shorted wire check (ACS line):

Shorted wire check (ACS line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P)

?4.
Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
Test point 1
Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4 (on the dashboard wire harness):
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 M??

     
YES
     
     
     
The ACS wire is OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.?
