1.
Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.


?3.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait 5 seconds or more.
NOTE: Do not open and close the driver's door.

?4.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.?
2.
EBB CAN circuit resistance check:

EBB CAN circuit resistance check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open.

?2.
Wait for 3 minutes.
NOTE: Do not close the driver's door.

?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
Electric brake booster 26P connector

?4.
Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there about 108?132 ? ?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
3.
Shorted wire check (EBB CAN H line to EBB CAN L line):

Shorted wire check (EBB CAN H line to EBB CAN L line)
?1.
Disconnect the following connector.
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

?2.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short in the wires between the electric brake booster terminals 19 and 12.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
4.
Open wire check (EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L lines):

Open wire check (EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L lines)
?1.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
 
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
Test circuit 1
 
Test point 1
Test point 2


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the VSA modulator-control unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the electric brake booster and the VSA modulator-control unit.?
5.
Shorted wire check (EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L lines):

Shorted wire check (EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L lines)
?1.
Disconnect the following connector.
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

?2.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
 
VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
Test circuit 1
 
Test point 1
Test point 2
Body ground

Test circuit 2
 
Test point 1
Test point 2
Body ground

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the electric brake booster and the VSA modulator-control unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The EBB CAN H, EBB CAN L wires are OK. Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric brake booster 26P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric brake booster.?
