Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

Start the engine.

Test drive at 6 mph (10 km/h) for 10 seconds.

Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1829 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.?

A/T system check:

A/T system check

Check the P indicator of the shift position/mode indicator and the MIL.

Do the P indicator and MIL come on?

     
YES
     
     
     
Troubleshoot the A/T system.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.

DTC check:

Check for gauge control module DTCs with the HDS.

Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting.?
