Heated Steering Wheel Control Unit Input Test
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
Make sure the fuses associated with the system is OK.
After testing, clear the SRS control unit DTCs.

1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2.
Disconnect the heated steering wheel control unit 14P connector.
Heated Steering Wheel Control Unit 14P Connector (female terminals)
3.
Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
If the terminals are OK, go to step 4.

4.
With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:

If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.

Cavity

Test condition
Test: Desired result
Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
8
LT GRN
Disconnect the audio remote-HFL switch 12P connector
Check for continuity between terminal No. 8, and audio remote-HFL switch 12P connector terminal No. 11:
There should be continuity.
An open in the HSW LIN wire
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be no continuity.
A short to ground in the HSW LIN wire
7
BLU
Disconnect the steering heater 4P connector
Check for continuity between terminal No. 7 and steering wheel heater 4P connector terminal No. 4:
There should be continuity.
An open or high resistance in the wire

5.
Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:

If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
If all the input tests prove OK, replace the heated steering wheel control unit.
