Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0001-2B indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.?

Shorted wire check (LA1 lines to another line):

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

Disconnect the following connectors.
SRS unit connector A (39P)
SRS unit connector B (39P)
Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness)
Inflator connectors which are assigned to 2B codes listed on HDS

NOTE: Make sure to work with the driver's airbag first inflator 2P connector (A) that has a guide tab (B) on the right side of the No. 2 terminal as shown.

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 of SRS unit connector A (39P) and B (39P) according to table.

Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
SRS unit connector B (39P): disconnected
Driver's airbag first inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected
Inflator connectors which are assigned to 2B codes listed on HDS: disconnected

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Short to another wire in the dashboard wire harness or the floor wire harness; replace the faulty harness, then clear the DTC.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The LA1 wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit, or SRS unit connector B (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness or the floor wire harness.?

Shorted wire check (LA1+ line to LA2+ line, LA1- line to LA2- line) 1:

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

Disconnect the following connector.
Driver's airbag first inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness)
Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness)

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Driver's airbag first inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected
Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected

Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector No. 2 (on the cable reel harness)

Go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
The LA1+, LA1-, LA2+, and LA2- wires are OK. Faulty driver's airbag second inflator; replace the driver's airbag, then clear the DTC.?

Disconnect cable reel connector B (4P) on the dashboard wire harness.

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected
Cable reel connector B (4P) (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected

Short to another wire in the cable reel; replace the cable reel, then clear the DTC.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 6.

Driver's airbag second inflator 2P connector (on the cable reel harness): disconnected
Cable reel connector B (4P) (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected

Short to another wire in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The LA1+, LA1-, LA2+, and LA2- wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.?
