Fuel Tank Removal and Installation

Torque: N·m (kgf·m, lbf·ft)

2. Fuel Tank - Drain

Using a hand pump, a hose, and a container suitable for fuel, draw the fuel from the fuel tank.

NOTE: Drain the fuel tank, then reinstall the fuel tank unit without connecting the fuel tank unit connector and the quick-connect fitting.

7. Fuel Tank Protector - Remove


8. Fuel Tank Guard Pipe - Remove (If Necessary)


9. EVAP Canister Line Hose - Disconnect


10. Fuel Fill Pipe Clamp - Remove


11. Fuel Tank Straps and Nut - Remove

Place a jack or other support under the fuel tank.

Note for installation

Set the fuel tank and the fuel tank straps, and loosely install the bolts and the nut. Then tighten the bolts and nut in the numbered sequence shown.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the following procedures.

14. All Removed Parts - Install

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
Before install the access panel (A), do the following fuel leak check. Connect the connector (B), then turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not start the engine. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel line will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
