1.
DTC check:

DTC check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.


?3.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait 5 seconds or more.
NOTE: Do not open and close the driver's door.

?4.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

C1C04-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Power Circuit Short To Ground or Battery
   

Is DTC C1C02-12 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
If only C1C02-12 is indicated, go to step 2.
     
YES
     
     
     
If DTC C1C04-11 is also indicated, go to DTC C1C04-11.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.?
2.
Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to +B EBB line):

Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to +B EBB line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open.

?2.
Wait for 3 minutes.
NOTE: Do not close the driver's door.

?3.

?4.
Disconnect the following connectors.
Electric brake booster 26P connector
Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector

?5.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
 
Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to power in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
3.
Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to +B OPTION line):

Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to +B OPTION line)
?1.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
 
Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to power in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 4.

Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to IG1 OPTION line):

Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to IG1 OPTION line)
?1.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector
 
Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to power in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 5.
5.
Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to PTS VS line):

Shorted wire check (PTS1 line to PTS VS line)
?1.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
 
Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to power in the wire between the electric brake booster and the brake pedal stroke sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric brake booster 26P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric brake booster.?
