Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

Press the tailgate outer handle switch for more than 1 second. |
?3. |
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

|
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.? |

Shorted wire check (T/G OPEN SW line):
Shorted wire check (T/G OPEN SW line)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. |
?2. |
Disconnect the following connector.
Power tailgate control unit connector A (24P) | |

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Repair a short to ground in the T/G OPEN SW wire.? |
